Words by Alice.
I’m always looking for ways to get inspired, find ideas and listen to people that think differently and have great stories to tell.
This is what I love about Shoreditch, the pulse of the city and beating heart that always brings new energy and a mix of different people, working in different industries and from different backgrounds.
In 2013, I attended Digital Shoreditch, a digital conference for thinkers, designers, creatives, innovators and everyone in between. I immediately loved the vibe, the variety of speakers and topics as well as the possibility to join small workshop groups. Some of the talks were so good that they’ve stayed with me, two years later.
After a hiatus, Digital Shoreditch is back again and the festival has now grown up and is reflective of a much larger community, with a programme that includes talks, workshops, open studios, dinners, film screenings, music series, hacks, parties, tech tours and more.
The main speaker program is divided into five different days, each with a new theme, I’ll be attending CONNECT – a day built for Marketing professionals, agencies, start-ups and brands to discuss Advertising, Social Media, Digital Marketing, brand strategy and innovation. I’m really looking forward to “How to learn from and involve communities“ from Google Campus Head Sarah Drinkwater. One of my favourite speakers, and influencers is James Whatley, Digital Director at Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, who will be covering off the BIG TRENDS and dispelling the MASSIVE MYTHS of social content in 2015.
If that’s not quite your cup of tea, I suggest checking out the full programme as if you’re living and/or working in London’s creative and tech community Digital Shoreditch is well worth checking out!
