The always fantastic LondonPopups weekly newsletter delivered a real gem into my inbox. If you’re not on it, I’d seriously recommend trialling it for a couple of weeks. It hits your inbox every Thursday and is a collection of some of the best and tastiest things to do and eat in London.
The Good Egg in North London sits somewhere between Old Street and Hackney and promises the “Best Brunch In London” – a big claim. Having had the pleasure of eating there recently I can fully confirm that this is a straight-up fact.
The menu is quirky from a seriously tasty breakfast burrito to my favourite, their take on the American classic – biscuits & gravy. Sweet, muffin-like scones surrounded by a mild indian, dhal inspired sauce with two eggs as it’s champion.
The family at The Good Egg are extremely welcoming, friendly and really made us feel at home. They’re currently looking for a residency and here’s me hoping that they find themselves in Brixton Village.
Make the time this weekend and check them, you won’t regret it. Tickets are £8 at Grub Club.
