All Pearls Are White

In the deepest depths of Carnaby street, perched up on high sits a bamboo hut, inside we find Fiona Deffenbaugh. Feverishly beavering away long into the night to create ever more stunning creations. Fiona is of course the 27 year old creative genius, and driving force behind Black Pearl, and solely responsible for its meteoric rise of 2009.

A woman of such passion and undying energy, taking only the very best in materials, she painstackingly hand crafts each individual item in her range. Her pieces are not so much made, as born; born out of an acute understanding of design and endowed with a touch of that quintessential Black Pearl magic.

The painstaking efforts that go into breathing life into these pieces can be seen in the S/S 2010 collection. All to ensure that the collection is a bold leap forward whilst still retaining that definitive Black Pearl look.

Clean, delicate lines that compliment rather than define the wearer. To the eye the collection looks organic, and instictively appeals to the senses. A spectrum of colours work through the tapestry of silks to give life to a piece that is the apex of asthetic beauty. Pieces that yearn to be touched and crave to be worn. This is delicate, subtle accessory design at its finest.

Fiona retires back to her bamboo hut to continue her never ending quest to find that next leap forward for Black Pearl.
