Review: Lads

I was lucky enough to be invited down to see the opening night of  Lads earlier this week; a friend of mine was playing one of the leads.

I am no thespian but don’t get me wrong I’m up for a bit of culture now and again. But I was say the lads outdid themselves. We essentially follow the drunken ramblings of 4 mates on a usual night out. Lots of your mum jokes and genuinely heroic efforts to chat up some ‘birds’.

Like La Roux’s skream remix they manage to lure you into this sense of cosy comedy than WHAM the beat drops and they switch it up with some emotional jiggery pokery. Like a punch to the chest you’d be left sitting there going. WHOA?! deep shit.
