Drains Kill iPods

Irrational fears are just that, irrational. My fear will kick in no matter what I am listening to, be that Run DMC, the Beastie Boys or the DJ Hype of 18th Century -Tchaikovsky. It can strike at anytime, anywhere and is often without warning.

As I walk through concrete streets fully immersed from the world outside by my trusty iPod. Having never failed me (yet) she keeps me encapsulated almost protected from all but one terror. The Public Drain. Lurking in recessed pavements, on the curb, and partially hidden by foliage they lie in waiting. Ever ready to gobble up your iPod.

Whenever I walk over a drain my heart suddenly stops for a second and I have this unquestionable fear that my iPod will slip through my fingers and straight down through the grates into the drain and the murky sewers below. Lost forever, I’ll have to resort to listening to the world outside.
