Prefer Illusion To Reality

What turns you on? Turn your pc on, turn your iPhone on, turn your skybox on, turn any page in The Sun.

What used to do it for you, won’t do it anymore. At last count there were 9 pornographic sites to every 1 non-pornographic web page. That means for every facebook profile, every wikipedia page, every myspace page there are x9 porno pages. A frighteningly high ratio, do we really need that amount of material to titillate us?

The porn industry was a major catalyst in the early  growth of the early internet and its presence on the net considers to grow. Who is feeding this rampant beast? We are.

Fantasies used to be the realm of our imagination, now virtually every perversion, sensation and temptation can be catered for. By fuelling our desires, what would have remained a dream instantly becomes reality within a few clicks. By making them real, we instantly dispell all the romanticism we held in our minds and a little bit of that magic is lost. You dreamt of garters and suspenders now its bras and knickers next its….

With the invent of HD and the coming 3D revolution, we have got to ask ourselves what will happen to our fantasies when we can really have all we want, whenever we want? Prefer illusion to reality.
