Born In Blighty
There was a time, not so long ago, our parent’s time in fact when the phrase ‘Made in Britain’ was spoken with reverence and passion. Found in everything from inside of your school blazer to the hood of your car, it adorned all that was important and came to symbolise the talent and skill of those on our little island. Its slow disappearance has become a benchmark of the changing times; we have forgotten the old ways – in 2010 everything is either made in China or owned by an American conglomerate.
There are a few die-hard individuals tirelessly beavering away to bring back the dying art of true craftsmanship, Sarah Jane Williams is one such lady. Her exquisite collection of luxury luggage not only epitomises classic, British design but each piece is created using traditional techniques. Bucking the trend to our convey belt society, William’s collection harks back to a nostalgic time when quality trumped quantity.
