Review – Chew The Fat At Cable

Its 7 AM and we are still reeling from an epic Chew The Fat night at Cable. Our first exposure to all things fatty was last month. Although it was a little empty we saw the possibility for greatness. Tonight that greatness became reality.
Daylight cuts through a raver like a hot knife through butter. Where were those sunglasses we had on? Oh yeah, we lost them about 3 hours ago on the head of a random; who for about 15 minutes was our new best-friend. While we bonded over the love of Dub and cut up moves on that oh so sticky dance-floor nothing else seem to matter. The beats were wobbly, the MC live, and the music kept getting louder and grimier.
Cable, meanwhile has quietly slipped under the radar. Imagine Fabric only smaller; With an industrial almost factory like decor coated in black paint with exposed brickwork and air conditioning units poking out of every corner. Best of all? A map painted onto the wall showing you the floor-plan – a feature many clubs are still lacking.
Chew The Fat’s line up didn’t disappoint. Naughty bass lines and seamless mixes that seemed to permeate every fiber of our being. Although that might have had something to do with us raving it up on a speaker most of the night. Saving the best till last – Foamo ripped up some epic tracks. Beats that got Room 1 feeling like midnight although it was really more like 6 AM. Definitely one our DJs to watch this summer.
The true sign of a great club? There were still ravers queueing up to get in when we walked out in the morning.
