Operation: Swagger

- Objective: Source original military uniforms, embellish with our logo and have fun in the park
- Mission Status: Success
Having been the driving force behind the shoot; We rack Vincent’s mind to find his inspiration for our latest photoshoot…
I’ve always been a fan of all things military, ever since I was a kid I had those lil’ green army toys and loved dressing up in army uniforms. My dad was a Paratrooper and he would give us old badges and hats that he had from his time in the army. As I got older I would start watching loads of war movies such as Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers. I always wanted to be in a movie like that, so this shoot was the closest I could get to being in the real thing.
It took at least 3 months to get all the equipment and props sorted out for the shoot. I went searching all throughout London to get helmets, bags, jackets and everything in between. Army surplus stores are the best as you get genuine, unbranded and quality kit for a low price. Some stores don’t have much in stock, but they can order pretty much anything you want within a week. The customised patches were ordered online and were pretty simple to sow on. The only hard bit was trying to stay cool under all the kit!
A massive thanks go to Adam, Victor, Catherine and Aba for all their help.
The entire shoot is available to view in our Facebook Gallery.
