Bloc Boys
We gave you the good word on Bloc in our recent Bloc Party post and as we start to brush the dust off our danceshoes in preparation for March, we take a deeper look at a couple of the artists headling.

Loefah
The young upstart who is tearing down the walls all around him with his low rumbling, earth shaking bassy tones. The London raised producer/DJ will be one of the underground attractions at Bloc 2011. With his work for the iconic DMZ label, he’s been solidly producing 3AM party bangers like his collaboration with Digital Mystikz – Twisup. We expect big things from this kid this year and Bloc is going to be his jump-off, for sure.
Peep his epic 50 minute mix here!
Beardyman

We first got our taste of witnessing UK beatboxers at work when we headed down to the DMC World Championships. We were simply blown away by the range and talent of these guys and luckily, the legendary Beardyman is also going to be at Bloc! The two times UK beatbox champion, he loops up beats, bars and mad mouth-made sounds in the most jaw-droppingly impressive and side-splittingly funny way imaginable – like some mutant breed of Rahzel and Jamie Lidell with some Rolf Harris and Richie Hawtin chromosomes spliced in for good measure.
As you can probably tell, we’re getting pretty hyped up over here about Bloc, but don’t just take our word for it, Rob Da Bank said the following about the festival:
I love Bloc, who they book and all it stands for… and the fact it all takes place in a fuck off holiday camp with chalets just adds flavour! I had a great set there – what i can remember of it. I ended up dangling off a pirate ship in the playground at dawn. Shameful, but very fun behaviour. Viva Bloc!
With words like that its hard not to get excited.
