Deadmau5 – LED 2011

Words by Ursula.
After last year’s epic LED festival, we weren’t quite sure how they could have improved it. We had heard rumours that Deadmau5 was due to be playing at this summer’s party, taking place in Victoria Park on 11 of June. But it all sounded a little too good to be true, but we kept our ears close to the ground, and our fingers crossed. Good news! This will not only be his first ever outdoor show in Blighty but his only English festival this year!
London Electronic Dance was one of our highlights of 2010 when we saw the mighty Annie Mac, Professor Green, Leftfield and numerous other world famous artists all in one weekend. This year proves to be no exception as they’re packing in a pretty spectacular roster of talent including Calvin Harris, Nero, Modestep, DJ Hype, Zane Lowe, Skillex, DJ Fresh, Jaguar Skills and Netsky. You’ll be hard pressed to find another day festival that can boast such a high calibre of heart pumping DJs.
But the real star of the show is going to be Deadmau5. If you don’t already know him, the Canadian DJ, formally known as Joel Thomas Zimmerman, came onto the Electronic/House scene in the 1990s and has been steadily growing since. He is most notable for his tracks, “Ghosts n’ Stuff” and his collaboration with Kaskade, “Move for Me”. Bit of pub quiz trivia for you, the name “deadmau5″ originated when Joel found a dead mouse in his computer while he was replacing his video card. It got shortened from “Dead mouse” to “Deadmau5”as there was a character limit on his user name for a chat room.
If you too would like to join us and dine on this buffet of some of the finest electronic music your ears will ever have heard, tickets are available and are priced at £42.
