Be Impulsive

Words by Alex

In a few days time yours truly will be flying off to Croatia for one of the most hyped festivals of the summer, and I’m going to tell you why joining me and 10,000 other music lovers in Croatia may just be the greatest impulse decision you are ever likely to make.

Whisper it if you must but the word is well and truly out, this summer is all about Croatia, and for me the summer starts at Hideout Festival. Running from the 1st – 3rd July, Hideout is brought to you by home grown favourites Warehouse project and Electronic Music Group and is set to cut through Europe with a line-up that will make you tingle in the pants!

Offering a welcome alternative from pricey and at times increasingly commercial Ibiza, Hideout festival is bringing explosive beats, non-stop sunshine and some of the sickest artists you are likely to ever spend a night skanking out to! And all this at a price that will leave you with enough to spend on a cheeky pick-a-mix or two! With a standard ticket costing just £89 and for those who want a few added perks VIP tickets are priced at just £139 it would be rude not to at least give it a thought!

Set on the island of Pag, this three day extravaganza will be enjoyed by a veritable horde of music lovers on the back drop of the sparkling Adriatic Sea. Spread across the sandy Zrce beach in Novalja and partly hidden within a forest Hideout offers numerous indoor, outdoor and pool party venues promising a Summer party like no other. In its first year of play Hideout hasn’t gone down the quiet and comfortable route, trying to feel its way into a crowded festival calendar. That just ain’t how they roll! Instead a staggering line-up of house, techno and big bass DJs have been pulled together by festival organisers with the intent of bringing that much loved raw warehouse project vibe to the Croatian west coast.

Just to scratch the surface of the line up, here’s what you can expect…

A greatly anticipated set from Techno master and Cocoon Records owner Sven Vath is set to headline the main stage on the opening Friday, but if you like your beats a little deeper and a lot more filthy don’t you worry with Chase and Status, Jack Beats, Toddla T and Nero all dishing up enough bass to satisfy your appetites. The second night brings more pumped up beats in the form of Simian Mobile Disco and Erol Alkan while Pendulum, Caspa and Miss Dynamite are certain to cause a riot in the main room. After all this you still have techno idols Seth Troxler, Rob James and Damien Lazarus to look forward to on the final day completing what has to be this Summer’s best electronic music line-up.

Throw into the mix a selection of 4 hour boat parties leading up to and throughout the festival weekend as well as sunrise to sunset events on the beach and we have a skanking good time in the sun on the cards!

‘But Alex its far too late now’ I hear you say. No! Shut ya mouth fool! With 500 tickets still up for grabs and flights and accommodation all still at a very reasonable price this could and should be the greatest impulse decision you will ever make. So kick your job to the curb, call this a rainy day, break into that overdraft and catch a flight over to Croatia. It’s gonna be sick.
