Eastern Promises

Words by Chris
With August bank holiday fast approaching, the Cloak & Swagger crew are taking this opportunity to recharge our batteries before the mayhem of the big weekend ahead. As always with most bank holidays, the problem is not in finding a good rave to tear up, but only in deciding which one to go to. However, this year our decision was made a lot easier when Eastern Electrics released their line-up.
Eastern Electrics are hosting three heavy hitters from the wide world of electronic music. Firstly, Mulletover which is now in it’s 7th year, and is synonymous with London’s underground house scene. They will be showcasing the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Robert Dietz, both of whom bring in that ol’ skool house vibe but still manage to keep things as fresh as a daisy. Jesse Rose, the founder of Made to Play, will be spinning tracks alongside other DJs such as Riva Starr and the London duo Zombie Disco Squad, who always drop an element of eccentric fun into their sets. And finally for those of you who like a little more bass with your beats, the good folks at Reprise will be represented by Paul Woolford, Dark Sky and Icicle who we can’t wait to hear!
So, once you’ve eaten all the jerk chicken at Notting Hill Carnival and drank the last drop of Red Stripe in London town, come down and meet us in South London. We’ll be there in force pappin’ pictures of your gorgeous mugs, see you on Sunday!
